THE COMPETITION

The 4th High School of Acharnon which is located in Acharnes, Attiki (which from now will be called “Organiser”) is organizing a competition for students called “Student Video Contest- Diversity” in the competition of the program Erasmus+ entitled Video ART, which is being implemented in cooperation with the following partners: FONDO FORMACION EUSKADI located in Bilbao Spain, Liceo Classico Stabili Trebbiaui located in Ascoli Piceno,Italy and Nosnasgymnasiet located in Stenungsund, Sweden.

The competition will be run according to these terms and conditions which will also be published on the program’s website: www.erasmusvideoart.com .

The purpose of the competition is to prompt students, to be inspired and produce videos based on the topic of the program, “Diversity”.

 

PARTICIPATION

Students aged 16-19 can participate in the Competition with parental consent.

Students can participate in the contest with more than one video but no more than four.

Every video has to be submitted separately and a notice will be sent to the entrant by email. The personal information that will be submitted in the email must belong to the beneficiary- creator of the video.

The entrants of the competition, if they are announced winners and in order to receive the award, must present the required documents that certify their identification with which they participated in the competition.

 

SUBMISSION

The interested parties can submit their entries in the contest by sending their video via email to: submitvideoart@gmail.com between 15th February 2016 time 12.00 and 30th April 2016 time 23:59 (Greece time).

The entry in the competition means full acceptance of the terms and conditions of this entry as they’re described in the terms of the competition which apply in similar applications such as Youtube, Facebook in terms of personal information.

The interested parties must send an email with their personal information (name, surname, father’s name date of birth, town, city, country of residence, school, email, phone number) and the video. Each video must be accompanied by a title and a short description in English (up to 300 words). By entering this competition an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Valid entries are considered those which have sent all the information and are related thematically to the competition “Diversity”. Furthermore, parental consent is assumed otherwise the organizer reserves to the right to disqualify the entrant.

Each submitted video will be uploaded on the website of the program and on the program’s Youtube channel and Facebook page after the approval of the administrator as long as he fulfills the terms of the competition. In the case that the submission is not accepted, a message will be sent to the interested parties.

Each valid submission to the competition is confirmed  via email.

 

RESULTS

There will be one winner of the competition. The result will be determined by the assessment of the videos by a judging committee which will consist of one teacher, eight students (2 from each country) that participate in the program and two video experts from Multitrab Productions, the company in charge of the education of the students on video techniques.

The public entering the program’s youtube page can select the video which they want to vote for, by stating that they “like” it through the special youtube app. The judging committee will take under consideration the “likes” of each video. The public will be able to vote throughout the running of the competition ie: from 15th February 2016 time 12.00 and 30th April 2016 time 23:59 (Greece time).

The name of the winner and the winning video will be announced on the program’s website and Facebook page eleven days after the end of the competition.

The winner will be personally  informed and will be asked to attend in order to be awarded and accept the award at a special event which will take place on 11th May, 2016 at a location that will be announced in Athens, Greece.

In the case that the winner does not attend or if the organizer deems that he does not fulfill the criteria, the award will be given to the runner up.

The organizer’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition/winner will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

AWARD

The winner will receive an award of 250 euros.

 

COPYRIGHT

The videos that will be submitted to the competition must be original and exclusively belong to the creators with no rights to a third party.

By sending the video or videos each participant will continue to retain all rights of his/her work. However, they give the Organizer the right to use and play their work.

The organizer has no responsibility if the entrant does not have the copyright of the video entered and for this reason the organizer reserves the right to disqualify the entry.

The organizer is not responsible if the video was made in areas which require special permission and if that permission has not been granted then the submission of the video can be cancelled.

 

REQUIREMENTS OF VIDEO SHOOTING

As far as video shooting is concerned, close-up shots cannot be included, where there are detailed facial characteristics without the person’s permission. The right of respect for every individual can’t be violated.

Otherwise, the organizer has no responsibilities toward third parties. The entrants should always follow the safety rules and should not in any way harass people.

Videos containing advertising or any offending content which might be considered to be racist in any way, will be disqualified.

The organizer has the right to disqualify any submission that violates these rules. The organizer reserves the right to communicate with the entrants, via the phone, to verify their personal information.

The organizer will keep an archive in order to validate or not  each entrant.

 

PERSONAL DATA

The personal information of the participants which will be required according to the Greek law( N.2472/1997) and the European law for the valid entry in the competition are: name, last name, father’s name, city and country of residence, school, email and a contact number.

Any personal data that is supplied by all entrants will be used solely in accordance with the current Greek data protection legislation N.2472/1997, as well as, N.2774/1999 and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. All data will be kept for one year.

According to the laws (N.2472/1997), every interested party can contact the administrator and use his/her right to be made aware, access the archive of personal data and change/delete the above information according to the articles (11-13 of N.2472/1997) for the protection of personal data.

As for as the keeping and the process of the personal data of entrants, the administrator will, if deemed necessary, on demand inform the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.

 

EXTRAS

The organizer maintains the right to change, recall extend or reduce the duration of the competition and change the terms and dates of entrance or even cancel the competition according to his judgement without the entrants claiming any rights. He will announce any such information on each website or in any way according to his judgement. The organizer also maintains the right to disqualify any video from the competition if he judges that the above mentioned terms are not fulfilled.

The terms and conditions of the participation in the competition will be uploaded on the program’s website on the competition’s starting date. Any dispute that might arise related to the competition will be resolved exclusively by the Athens courts according to the Greek legislation and the above mentioned term and conditions.
